Covane Community Lodge offers everything you might need for an overnight visit or an extended stay.
RESTAURANT - Our chalets are not self catering, so join us at the restaurant for your meals - please confirm requirements at the time of booking your accommodation. Our camping guests are also most welcome! Our meals and drinks are priced affordably.
• Breakfast: Breakfast is an optional extra for all guests - other meals and all drinks not served standard with breakfast are charged for.
• Lunch: Optional, by arrangement. Can include light meals like quiche or chicken salad.
• Dinner: Set menu, meal varieties change daily.
BEVERAGES - Cash bar available for all guests. Bottled water, ice cold beer, soft drinks, wine & spirits available for sale
WATER - Guests are warned to not drink the tap water and only drink bottled water.
POWER - Electricity is supplied by a 220V generator, which operates from 18h00 to 22h00 in the evenings.
WATER BASED ACTIVITIES - Boat-based game, bird-viewing or sunset safaris on the Massingir Dam. Click here to download the rate sheet.
FISHING - Boat-based fishing trips on Massingir Dam: Using your own fishing gear, cast for Tiger fish (catch & release) Bream/Moçambican Tilapia, Silver Karp or Barbel.

CANHANE VILLAGE TOUR - Experience the Shangaan culture with an one hour guided tour of the local village: Price: R100 per person. As an optional extra during the tour, meet the traditional healer in Canhane: R5 per person.
MASSINGIR TOWN & MARKET TOUR - Experience living in rural Moçambique with an two hour guided tour of the local town of Massingir. See and hear the Portuguese influences while strolling through the markets, buying fresh bread rolls and end your tour enjoying a local beer in the pub. Price: R150 per person. Understand more about the community life - see the traditional dancers at Covane: R200 for the group to perform.
